By now, you’ve surely heard the news surrounding the tragic death of 17-year-old jockey Juan Saez. DanonymousRacing.com extends its deepest sympathy and condolences to the Saez family, friends and everyone who has been impacted by this devastating loss.
While it should not take instances of enormous tragedy to compel us to act in the moral interest of the humans and horses who make horse racing work, we certainly must step up in a time like this. That said, we are submitting a donation to the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund via FatBaldGuyRacing.com.
Dan Cronin, the man behind FatBaldGuyRacing.com, will be raising funds all weekend for PDJF. The first $5oo raised will go toward a Pick-4 ticket at Keeneland on Saturday (which will be posted on FatBaldGuyRacing.com) and 100% of winnings will go to PDJF. Any funds raised above and beyond $500 are also going to PDJF. From what Dan tells us, the drive has already raised more than $600 in just a few hours.
