There’s a 9-race program today at Oaklawn Park, and we have FREE picks & analysis from Aaron Hayes (@ahaze24) of the program. Aaron filled in here on Danonymous last year, and we’re happy to have him providing picks & analysis of Oaklawn every Sunday. Give him a follow on twitter when you can.
Take it away, Aaron!
Race 1. #2 Eye On Harper. Drops in class and switches to jockey David Cabrera who is 11-57 this meet.
#1 Darion’s Dream. 2nd race off 2 month layoff. Will be right off the pace.
#3 White Gold. Fought gamely in last race to run 2nd. Will be in the mix coming down the stretch
$5 DAILY DOUBLE 1,2,3/1,12
Race 2. #12. Bella My Girl. Has the ability to get out the gate. Would be tough to catch this class dropper on or near the lead.
#1. She’s A Queen. Was near the lead and checked around the turn in only start. Adds blinkers and has the rail.
#10. All About Betty. Doesn’t have the fastest off starts but has some late speed to pick up the pieces.
Race 3. #7 Cass In Stone. 2nd race off a 2 month layoff and should be fit. Trainer winning 20% after 2nd claim
#2. Minefield. Has early speed and will be looking to wire the field.
#5. Chocolate Ice Cream. Returns back to dirt after a 4 month layoff. Has hit the board 9-16 times
Race 4. #9 Just Another Bird. Didn’t like the AW in last race. Gets back to dirt and a preferred distance.
#1A Bo Tee. Had a nice workout on 1-31
#4 Captivated. Did finish 2nd by a neck 3 starts back with same jock aborad.
Race 5. #12 Circle Unbroken (longshot play 20/1 ML) Has run vs a lot tougher in the past. Was a beaten favorite off a 2 month layoff. Should be back to better form and stalking from right off the lead.
#4 Greeleys Charm. Was 5 wide coming down the lane to run 2nd by a neck. Could get there this time with the same setup.
#11 Sky Flight. Has closed nicely in last 2 starts. Will have some pace to run into for another stretch run.
$10 WP 12
Race 6. #2 Indian Gem. Broke his maiden 3 starts back going wire to wire winning by 17 lengths. Won last race coming from off the lead. Will be tough here.
#1 Donitas Ruler. Has a right speed rating in last race and drops in class. Was only beaten by 1 ½ lengths in last
#6. Liam’s World. Has won 4 out of 6 races with two 2nd place finishes. Will be on or near the lead.
Race 7. #11 Oklahoma Long Shot. Has hit the board 3 out of 4 times. Has good early speed.
#2 Party Club. Ran 3rd 1st time over surface. Can rally from off the lead.
#8 Crimson Creed. Hasn’t ran since a 4th place showing at Saratoga in July. Trainer Ingrid Mason’s barn has been hot.
Race 8. #1A The Craic. (Best Bet) Trainer Norman McKnight has an active barn that he’s brought down from Toronto. He brings in a fresh one who won going wire to wire winning by 5 ¼ lengths at Woodbine. I’m expecting him to sit 2nd or 3rd and then pounce on the pace sitter down the stretch.
#4 Cara Blythe. Hung tough to lose lead late going 6 ½ F to finish 3rd. Gets a slight cut back in distance. He’s also 2-2 at Oaklawn
#3 Street Biz. Will finally get a fast dirt track since June. Has a high speed figure and should be fit with 2nd after layoff.
$20 WIN 1
Race 9. #2 Suspect A Crime. Drops in class and will have a better go at it with his 2nd off a layoff. Will be looking to win this from out the gate.
#4 Tour de Rock. Has been off 5 months. Has high speed rating in last race.
#7 Devilishly Cleaver. This front runner should be ready to go with 2nd start since August.
.50 Tri Box 1,2,4,7
