Take it away, Aaron!
Race 1. #5 Liam’s World. This class dropper should be sitting in a prime position off the leader. He finished 3rd in his last race and has a 2nd and 3rd place finish at Oaklawn.
#4 Queen Kate. Trainer Federico Villafranco is winning at 30% with claimers and in the money 63%. He closed to from off the pace vs tougher to finish 3rd in last race.
#8 Tit For Tat. Almost wired the field in last race only to weaken to 3rd. There isn’t much speed in this race so he might be able to steal it on the front end
$5 Daily Double 4,5/4,5,9
Race 2. #4 More Monique. Ran a good 3rd in her last race after a 3 month layoff. She gets a major class drop and should be on or near the lead. Trainer Ingrid Mason is winning at 20% 2nd off a layoff.
#9 Clara’s Honour. Bumped at the start and faded after being. 3 ¾ lengths off the lead. Gets some class relief
#5 Sattersfield. Jostled at the start but rallied to finish 5th in her only start.
.50 Pk4. 4,9/2,6,7/6,8,9/2,5,9
Race 3. #6 Coach Adams. Broke his maiden 2 races back going wire to wire. Returned 10 days later to almost repeat his effort finishing a game 3rd. Will definitely be the one to catch.
#7 Midnight Run. This California invader won his last race closing from last in a 6 horse field. Switches to Chris Hartman’s barn who is in the money 60% with repeat claimers.
#2 Speedy Fellar. This 1st gelding drops in class. He tired in last start after a 2 month layoff. Will be on or near the lead.
$1 Tri Box 2,6,7
Race 4. #9 Showreel. (Longshot Play 6-1 ML) Was bumped at the start and didn’t have a good go at it with his 1st start after a 3.month layoff. Looks to be fit and ready with a bullet workout on Feb 6th. David Cabrera is back aboard and should be on the lead with not much front end speed in this race. Trainer Ronald Westermann is winning at 27% when moving up 2 classes.
#8 Herald Square. Broke his maiden saving ground riding the rail in the slop in his last race. Moves up in class vs tougher and he can use another ground saving trip to beat these.
#6 Chevy to the Levy. Has some front end speed but tends to shut it down coming for home. Dropping down in class can be beneficial for his style and might be able to hit the board.
$10 WP #9 Showreel
Race 5. #5 Compose. Had 2 bad races out of trainer Allen Milligan’s barn. He looks to regain his winning ways under Steve Asmussen. Also gets top jockey Ricardo Santana aboard. Without much speed he should be on the lead dictating the fractions to his liking.
#9 Oro Bird. Floyd Wethey has rode him for 3 of his 5 victories. All 3 of those wins have came at 1m 70 yards so the slight cut back in distance can be just as favorable. Look for him to make a big move around the turn into the short stretch.
#2x String Bikini. Norman McKnight’s horses from Woodbine have been live at Oaklawn this meet and this first time starter on dirt will be well prepared. He’s fresh off a 2 month layoff where Norm is winning at 38%.
.50 Pk3. 2,5,9/6,9/2,3,5
Race 6. #6 Meanbone. His 1st race after a 5 month layoff was a solid 2nd place finish where he stalked from right off the lead. Trainer Ron Moquett is winning at 20% with beaten favorites and it helps when you get Santana in the irons.
#9 Guska Mon Shoes. Closed from well off the pace to finish 2nd by a neck after a 5 month layoff. Gets an up grade in jockey with David Cohen. Trainer Robertino Diodoro is winning at 25% and in the money 64% with drops after a claim.
#2 Detroit Cowboy. Had the lead late only to lose by ¾ lengths. Jon Court has four 2nd places with a win his last 5 times in the saddle. Trainer Brad Cox is winning at 31% and in the money 64% with claimers. Also drops in class.
.50 Pk4. 6,9/2,3/1,7/1,4,5,7,9,10
Race 7. #3 Brooklyn Bites. Has fast early speed. Lost the lead in the stretch to run 2nd in her only start.
#5 Kalalou. Had a nice workout on Feb 3rd
#2 Pekena Jaguar. Closed from 15 lengths last to finish a close 2nd in only start.
$1 Tri Key. 3/2,4,5,7
Race 8. #1 Prized Bourbon. (Best Bet 3-1 ML) Didn’t mind the slop in his only start on dirt. Ran a game 2nd and Trainer Norman McKnight winning at 36% and in the money 67% with beaten favorites. Had a solid workout on Feb 10th.
#7 Jersey Heist. Won his last race as a favorite comfortably. Gets an upgrade in jockey Ramon Vazquez.
#5 Dustem Carolina. Closed well from off the pace to win by 2 ¼ lengths. Received a nice speed rating in his last race as well.
$20 Win #1 Prized Bourbon
Race 9. #7 Rock Star Status. He has 7 wins out of 27 starts. Should be in a good stalking position.
#5 Night Spree. Is probably the fastest out the gate and will be on the lead. Hasn’t ran since Nov 24.
#9 Just Fred. Adds blinkers and switches to the barn of Karl Broberg.
.50 Tri Box 1,5,7,9
$1 Per Box 1,5,7,9
