$1.00 Pick 4 (Race 8) Guaranteed Pool $10,000
6,8/1,2,8/1,3,5/1,4,6 – Cost: $54.00
Race 8: Stevie Diamonds (6) is going to try to return to winning ways after some tough efforts at Scioto Downs for trainer Brian Loney. He draws tough, but has been known to produce from out here before, definitely could play a factor tonight. Milliron Pete (8) draws tough again this week, but has hit the board in five of his last six starts, three of those being from the outside. If he is any kind of price you will want to use in the exotics. Savage Seelster (2) draws well again this week after facing a game group at Scioto Downs. Tonight he should be able to flash a little bit of early contentious speed and race well.
Race 9: This is a race that you must demand value as it is completely wide open. Mikey Hanover (2) got parked the mile last week from post eight and had a slim chance turning for home before tiring late in the mile. Tonight he draws a spot where he can sport the speed that he has and that could be dangerous for some of the horses in this field. Palmers Pride (8) gets assigned the outside this week after winning easily in 1:54.4 last time out. He has been known to show a good amount of early speed even from the outside and is definitely one to watch. Keystone Chester (1) is the epitome of improvement as of late hitting the board in five of six starts. Tonight he draws the rail and could play spoiler if things go well.
Race 10: Strother (5) was 2nd against upper level company in his last start for trainer Mark Headworth and just ran out of racetrack. Tonight he draws well and has the ability to show speed that some of the inside horses do not, one to watch out for here. Rick’s Sign (1) put in a big effort from post six in his last start after being parked the mile and only missed by a length and three quarters. Tonight he draws well again and has some early speed to contend with. Let Loose Hanover (3) could provide the value you need to use in the exotics tonight. He draws well this week and while he doesn’t have a ton of gate speed he can fly home.
Race 11: Megatron (4) is dropping in class for trainer Brett Boyd after finishing a game 5th against Open Company. He raced extremely well two starts back against Open II Company and has shown that he can compete with this level of competition. Honeemoon Suite (1) is coming back to Northfield where he has had some success before. He draws the rail and has good amount of early speed, the class jump is the only question. Four Staces (6) was a very nice winner against a group just like this last time out. He is one of the more consistent horses and is always prominently placed on the ticket.
