Race 8: Mr De Luca (8) has been racing extremely well against Open company and is dropping in class after a third place effort last time out. He has won against tougher company before form post 8, if you get 9/2 here I think you will receive lots of value. This Baby Rocks (2) has a strong ability to hang with Mr De Luca as he has speed and will be using it from the inside. He has had some bad racing luck as of late and is dropping down to a class he has beaten before. Definitely watch out here at 6/1 morning line. Bubbie Boy (5) was second to This Baby Rocks three starts back against Open II company. The start last week was impressive when Wrenn made his move at the ½ and went to the front. He has shown the ability to go :52 before, this is going to be a very competitive race.
Race 9: Somebody As (3) went to the lead against Open company from post 7 at Miami Valley and then tired late in the mile with Elliot Deaton aboard. Tonight he gets Wrenn back and should have no issues against this group. Palmers Pride (4) has won two of his last three starts both of them against Open company. He draws just outside of Somebody As this week and it will be interesting to see how the battle on the front end will look. Mikey Hanover (1) has been racing really well in his last couple starts. He has some early speed to contend with early, but at the end of the mile he tends to lose ground, will be close. Rompaway Galaxy (8) gets a tough draw towards the outside yet again this week, but he has a lot of closing power and should be close for trainer Chris Beaver. He has hit the board in just over 50% of his lifetime starts and that shouldn’t be ignored.
Race 10: Southwind Amazon (8) got roughed up in the Invitational at Hoosier Park on May 14. He gets another draw on the outside and this gelding has a ton of early speed to contend with. The question will be is how far will he be stretched out by Lookinforadventure on the inside. Lookinforadventure (2) has some speed to work with and has a very good post at the inside. He has the ability to control the pace on the front end, it will be interesting to see what happens at the inside this week. Blake North (9) is a very interesting horse who since coming back off the layoff has won two straight races in fine fashion. He has some early speed, but can fly from off the pace as well. The second tier doesn’t hurt at all, since he can follow some speed. Archetto Hanover (7) has been racing against the Open ranked company for a while and always seems to show up at the most unlikely times. If the speed of the race falls apart, he could definitely upset, but if not he should hit the board with no problem.
Race 11: Walltocousins (5) is up in class this week after winning two straight races against lower level company. Tonight he draws the middle of the road against tougher horses and as he is the speed of the race he controls his own fate. Will be strong and should be watched this week. J CS Jake (4) is coming back off the layoff for trainer Tim Hall this week. He qualified really softly so it is really hard to tell how ready this gelding is for this race. The drop in class should play to his favor, it will be interesting to see what happens. Darron Hall (1) draws the rail this week after a tough effort from post seven against Open company. Tonight he draws the inside and while he has a little early speed he probably will be coming from off the pace. Massive Talent (2) is dropping in class this week after a tough race from post 4 last time out. Tonight he draws towards the inside and is hoping a class drop will play to his advantage.
Race 13: This is a race that you are going to want to look for some value with the guarantee. Windsun Stetson (7) draws tough on the outside, but put in a monster effort two weeks ago from the inside. Trainer Cory Deyermand gave him a week off and is hoping the jump in class will be good for his gelding. The outside post is tough to overcome, but he has a lot of closing power. Regal Hope (3) closed from off the pace to finish a strong second against tough company at Miami Valley Raceway. Tonight he draws the inside and should be the one setting pace. Catherine’sdiamond (4) showed some early speed against lower level claimers last time out and just hung on at the wire. He gets along well with Jason Merriman and should be stalking the pace. Toni’s Affection (6) has been ultra-consistent over the past couple of starts and handling the move up in class with no problems. Tonight he draws a little tough, but two starts back from post 8, he showed enough speed to hit the board. Expect a big trip.
