Free Picks & Analysis — Who Do Ya Like?
Wednesday, December 7, 2016
On this Wednesday at Danonymous Racing, we’ve got FREE picks & analysis from Turf Paradise from Rob MacLennan (@RobMacASD)!
Rob served as the track handicapper at Assiniboia Downs, near Winnipeg, over the summer, and we’re happy to have him as part of the Danonymous Racing crew. He’ll be providing analysis of the racing at Turf Paradise all winter long. Rob had three winners yesterday, and will hope to continue the hot streak today.
Take it away, Rob!
Race 1: Selection: #4 Abbyboo (9/2 ML). This filly ran a huge race last time. She had no reason to win and ended up getting up late to win by a ½ length. She was incredibly wide chasing a slow pace and she ended up closing into it to win. Now she goes back to the grass a surface she most certainly is bred to like and faces a group that should suit her needs in this unique nw1 on the grass starter condition.
Proposed early Pick 4 play: $0.50 P4 2,4,5,8/2,3,5/7,9/1,5 $24
Race 2: Selection: #5 Rosie’s Renegade (12/1 ML). This boys starter race didn’t come up as tough as they have in the past. That leads me to take a price shot with Rosie here. Stumbling before rushing up last time in the first start off the layoff could point to a much better effort today. Expect him to sit just in behind the speed and his form from last spring would make him a huge player in here.
Race 3: Selection: #9 Ellie’s the Boss (5/2 ML). This game mare was freshened after an ASD campaign. Other than the fact she bit me this summer, I like that she drops in class out of a race where she showed good speed. She doesn’t however need the lead and can sit close. Now she gets Larren Delorme in the saddle, and this is a barn that is 24% second off the layoff.
Race 4: Selection: #5 Four Times Lucky (1/1 ML). This mare had a number of fast works prior to the campaign debut and she showed little in a very fast race. Now she drops from optional 20 into 6250 claiming. She prefers the grass and gets back to it as well. She should control the early pace for a barn that wins. It’s a little perplexing why the drop, but if she runs her race, she wins.
Race 5: Selection: #3 Wine N Divine (12/1 ML). Comes out of some tough races in New Mexico and Oklahoma. Last time ran second at Remington park for 25000 NW2L. Now ships into Phoenix for a barn who is 6 for 20 this meet. He should be forwardly placed and if his ML holds he’s a great value play in the race.
Proposed Late Pick 4 Play: $0.50 P4 1,3,4,7/1,2,6,7/3,4,9/4 $24
Race 6: Selection: #7 Strawberry Gulch (6/1 ML). Throw out his last race on the turf and he fits with the favorites in here. I wanted to take a shot against Rules of War who is late runner who benefited from a pace battle last time and is beatable at a short price. Strawberry Gulch ran a good second in this condition two back and a repeat of that race makes him very playable.
Race 7: Selection: #4 A.P. Phantom (9/2 ML). Got the worst of the trips in the last race when comparing him with the will be favorite Etailer. He was caught 3 wide into a slow pace as the favorite. Now he switches riders to Jake Barton, is drawn inside his rival and looks to turn the tables.
Race 8: Selection: #4 Golden Bayers (7/2 ML). Trust the barn. 2 for 4 and this horse comes in with competitive form from Golden Gate. She can sit close and she draws the services of Scott Stevens. I expect her to be very live in here in a race that doesn’t have much else exciting going on.
