Best Bet: #12 Queen of Castle, Race 8
Value Play: #6 Wizardly, Race 7 (12-1 Morning Line)
Race 1: Maiden Special Weight, Fillies 2YO, 6 Furlongs (Widener Turf)
#3 Noble Ready debuts for a top turf barn which does well with first-timers. Put in a nice workout on June 8th and has a right to be a nice runner as a full sister to near-400k earner Zindaya. #10 MacCorleot is one of three in the race with running experience. Gets lasix for the first time for Ward, who has teamed up with Rosario for a lot of success this year. #9 Coasted debuts for a solid juvenile trainer in Gyarmati. Fetched 28 times the sire’s stud fee at auction. #5 Bahama Halo owns experience for top connections, and encountered trouble in her debut.
#3 Noble Ready 6-1
#10 MacCorleot 3-1
#9 Coasted 5-1
#5 Bahama Halo 5/2
Race 2: Claiming, 3YO & Up, 7 Furlongs (Dirt)
#1 Beach Hut projects to be near the early pace, and stretches out a bit for this while taking on the NYRA circuit. Owns a solid workout pattern and the trainer is hitting at 33% with runners second off the lengthy layoff. #4 Regulus enters this in solid form and can improve second off the layoff, though the trainer has yet to score with that angle. In the exacta 5 of 6 at Belmont. #7 Day of Fury projects to track the early pace, and certainly has no distance limitations. In the money 6 of 8 at Belmont. #6 Point Hope may be more settled with the removal of blinkers. Trainer does solid on the turnback, and this is another runner making his second start off the layoff. Look for him to get on the scene late.
#1 Beach Hut 9/5
#4 Regulus 6-1
#7 Day of Fury 5/2
#6 Point Hope 4-1
Race 3: Allowance Optional Claiming, Fillies and Mares 3YO & Up, 6 1/2 Furlongs (Dirt)
#5 Stormy Sky projects to sit off the early pace & beat the closers to the punch. Has handled Rachel’s Temper on a couple of occasions. #1 Rachel’s Temper has never been out of the money over this course or distance. Could get a strong pace to rally into, but will need some help to turn the tables on the top choice. #3 Momameamaria faded behind the top choice last time out, but can take a step forward second off the layoff. Speedball enters this off a strong workout June 15th, and her jockey/trainer combo have done spectacularly together.
#5 Stormy Sky 6-5
#1 Rachel’s Temper 6-1
#3 Momameamaria 5/2
Race 4: Allowance, Fillies and Mares 3YO & Up, 1 1/16 Miles (Widener Turf)
#10 Candida has made strong runs each time for Pletcher. Eligible to improve second time off the layoff, and must do so to turn the tables on Wild Chatter. #6 Amazing Anne enters this off the claim after a front-running score. Got the better of one of today’s rivals in that heat, and maybe she shows that speed again in a race lacking much early pace. #7 Wild Chatter got a favorable pace setup last time out, but this closer may not get much heat to run at today. #1 Jademariewas caught behind slow paces in both recent turf tries. Owns experience at the level and should offer a healthy price today.
#10 Candida 7-2
#6 Amazing Anne 5-1
#7 Wild Chatter 3-1
#1 Jademarie 15-1
Race 5: Claiming, Fillies and Mares 3YO & Up, 6 Furlongs (Dirt)
#6 Mastic has the potential to track a contested early pace. Carrasco isn’t a common sight at Belmont, but he has teamed up to score at a 24% clip with trainer Nevin. Could work out a comfortable trip behind the early speed. #9 Pearls for Girls had a rough start last time out, and was caught in the slop before that. Can sit a tracking trip from this outside position, and owns two wins over this course. #3 Da Wildcat Girl has hit the board half the time she’s tried this course. Now enters this in good form and could benefit from a pace scenario with a few pushing for the early lead. #8 Liberty Fuze has locked horns with most of these in the past. Faded last time out, but that was an improved effort off the claim for this trainer. Pace presence in a field containing other early heat.
#6 Mastic 5-1
#9 Pearls for Girls 10-1
#3 Da Wildcat Girl 5-1
#8 Liberty Fuze 4-1
Race 6: Maiden Special Weight, 3YO & Up, 1 1/16 Miles (Dirt)
#7 Miles of Humor always works like a good thing, but must overcome gate trouble. Nicks & Castellano have teamed up for success in limited engagements. #8 Chomsky has hit the board in 7 of 13 starts, but has yet to get over the hump. Put in a nice workout June 3rd. #6 Tale of Mist took a step forward last time out, but changes jockeys yet again. Look for him late if at all. #2 T R Crew suffered from a poor start in the mud against a strong field in his debut. Potential to outrun his odds today, and the addition of blinkers is a solid move for trainer Donk. Turned in a strong workout June 2nd.
#7 Miles of Humor 3-1
#8 Chomsky 5-1
#6 Tale of Mist 7-2
#2 T R Crew 30-1
Race 7: Claiming, 3 YO & Up, 1 1/16 Miles (Inner Turf)
#6 Wizardly hopes for a strong pace up front. Has put in a couple of solid workouts since the last effort, so maybe he’s fit enough to come running through the lane no matter the pace scenario. Second time in the hands of strong turf trainer Maker, who is 26-10-1-3 the last five years moving runners from dirt to turf in their second start off a claim. #7 Jonrahowns excellent marks at this course & distance while dropping into an easier spot for a top turf barn. #5 Little Jerry is a proven frontrunner, and picks up Velazquez today. First time out for a barn that excels off the claim, but doesn’t own great numbers with turf runners. Proven at the distance, so he remains the one to catch. #2 Our Emerald Forest (Ire)has never been out of the money over this course. Must overcome the winter layoff, and hopes to track the early pace then fend off the closers late. Picks up top local turf jockey in Saez.
#6 Wizardly 12-1
#7 Jonrah 8/5
#5 Little Jerry 4-1
#2 Our Emerald Forest (Ire) 12-1
Race 8: Allowance, Fillies and Mares 3YO & Up, 1 1/16 Miles (Widener Turf)
#12 Queen of Castle enters this off a strong workout and a win over this course. Projects to stalk a contested pace from this outside position while picking up a strong turf jock in Lezcano. In excellent form since being moved to turf. #3 Kitty Maddnes tries winners for the first time, but was able to run well after chasing into slow fractions in both career starts. Should benefit from a stronger pace scenario today. #4 Always Sarah faced a tough crowd last time out when trying turf for the first time, and the Beyer figure came back to match her career best. Capable of improving while stretching out in her second spin over the surface. #10 Sugar Mags should benefit from a favorable pace setup. Will need to improve Beyer-wise to come out on top, but is bred for this trip and can be a factor late.
#12 Queen of Castle 3-1
#3 Kitty Maddnes 4-1
#4 Always Sarah 20-1
#10 Sugar Mags 5-1
Race 9: Maiden Claiming, Fillies and Mares 3YO & Up, 6 Furlongs (Inner Turf)
#5 Bellamy Torch has a right to improve while dropping here with a lot of positive angles for top turf trainer Mott. Biggest move may be the addition of lasix, which Mott hits at 20% with. #8 Double Dose drops into maiden claiming company for Pletcher, who hits at a colossal 40% with the move. Should be suited to this shorter distance after fading in the turf route try last fall. #1 Rio Vista projects as a pace presence from this inside post. Picks up a top turf jockey in Saez for the return to sprinting. #9 Crimson Cat could be a pace factor with blinkers added. Met a solid field last time out, and should be suited to today’s shorter trip.
#5 Bellamy Torch 12-1
#8 Double Dose 7-2
#1 Rio Vista 5-1
#9 Crimson Cat 5/2
