We’re headed back to out to Aqueduct on Sunday where we’ve got FREE PICKS & Analysis from Stephen Wong (@Sw064351).
Stephen has also provided a suggested Pick-4 play. We appreciate his time and insights and encourage you to follow Stephen on Twitter @Sw064351. Good luck to everyone playing along!
RACE 1 – MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT
UNINFLUENCED (6) stuck on well after he was trapped wide throughout on debut. The step up to the mile should suit. NET GAIN (1) disappointed when resuming but will have taken benefit from that run. RICHIE’S RICH (2) rises in class and will need his best to trouble the top two.
RACE 2 – CLAIMING
STAR OF NEW YORK (8) looked smart when bolting in against $12.5k claiming opposition three weeks ago and looks the testing material. GROUND FORCE (6) is struggling for form but drops in grade. THE BIG DELUXE (3) was outclassed last outing and an improved showing here wouldn’t surprise.
RACE 3 – THE EVENING ATTIRE
TURCO BRAVO (7) found the line strongly in the Jazil and drops 6lb here. COUSIN STEPHEN (5) is racing well and should lead these for a long way. KID CRUZ (6) has class on his side but I suspect he may need the run.
RACE 4 – MAIDEN CLAIMING
VIOLINIST (4) showed some ability in both her runs at Gulfstream and her pedigree suggests she should handle the dirt. CAROLINE’S SPIRIT (5) has been freshened since finishing tailed off last time. SMART COOKIE (8) got home okay on debut and should be kept safe.
RACE 5 – CLAIMING
HOT SPLASH (1) drops significantly in grade after being beaten out of sight when resuming. TAYLOR JAGGER (2) was never a factor over a sloppy track last month and can bounce back. HILLARY D (8) resumes and recent trackwork has been sound.
RACE 6 – MAIDEN CLAIMING
UNAUTHORIZED (2) was competitive against tougher last outing and gets the benefit of a good draw here. EL GRILLO (1a) stuck on after doing it at both ends last time. WORBOTHOR (7) should appreciate the added distance.
RACE 7 – ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING
There looks a distinct lack of pace here and Rice stablemates TOUCHING MY TOES (6) &SHERIFFA (5) will both be prominent. SAYTHREEHAILMARY’S (7) best of the rest.
RACE 8 – ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING
WRITINGONTHEWALL (6) has been freshened since leading throughout for a soft win in November and can make it three on the trot. BETWEEN THE LINES (5) circled the field last month to score in convincing fashion. BASS RIVER ROAD (10) has been impressive in trackwork since changing stables.
RACE 9 – CLAIMING
GLICKMAN (8) drops sharply in grade and should have the measure of these. MOP HEAD (6)rallied for a minor placing last time after covering plenty of ground. SAY MR. SANDMAN (2) won over this course and distance two starts back and looks suited down in class.
