CROWN OAKS – RUNNER BY RUNNER

Pasadena Girl

Kept grinding to line in the Vase and while the distance is a query she’s the lone Group 1 winner in the race and must be respected with the sting out of the ground.

Jameka

Didn’t have much luck in the Thousand Guineas when covering a stack of ground but she followed that up with a strong on-pace win, beating subsequent Victoria Derby winner Tarzino.

Sacred Eye

Ran down Caulfield Guineas runner-up Lizard Island last time for an impressive win in the Norman Robinson. Rate highly.

Ambience

Half-sister to champion Pierro who thrashed her rivals in the Wakeful. Seeking to be the fourth filly to complete the Wakeful-Oaks double in the last seven years.

Honesta

Racing well this preparation. Just missed behind Speak Fondly in the Flight Stakes before beating subsequent Wakeful winner Ambience home in the Ethereal. Include among the better prospects.

Dawnie Perfect

Scratched (vet cert required before next start).

The Grey Flash

Struggling for form at present and on pedigree she’s a question mark at the distance.

Muzyka

Worked to the line nicely in the Wakeful and the rise in trip should suit. Rough place hope.

Ritzy

Kept on in the closing stages of the Wakeful after beginning awkwardly. Needs to improve sharply to be competitive here.

Zarabeel

Was held up rounding the turn in the Wakeful but she still made up ground in the worst part of the track once clear. Each-way claims.

Dulverton

Drops back to fillies’ grade after a sound effort in the Geelong Classic but the form from the race didn’t hold up with the first three finishing fifth, thirteenth and fourteenth in the Victoria Derby last Saturday.

Princess Aria

Had excuses in her last few as she was trapped wide in the Wakeful and was held up in the Ethereal but she’s still a maiden after eight starts.
